Shelter House gives a warm welcome to our new Board President, Tom Goodwin! Tom is the founder and President of Thomas Goodwin Communications, Inc. His firm focuses on helping organizations and individuals create effective communications strategies in the areas of public affairs and marketing communcations. Previously, as senior vice president and a member of the Executive Committee of Porter Novelli's Washington, D.C. office, Tom founded the Public Affairs practice. He also held senior management positions at Powell Tate and The Hawthorn Group. As chair (now emeritus) of the Board of Directors of the education foundation that supports Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology, Tom developed the foundation's communications strategy and materials, and during his three-year tenure as Board chair, contributions to the school exceeded $1.2 million. We are extremely excited to have Tom build on the momentum that Shelter House has in Changing Lives in our community and know he will make this year a great one!

Denise served as President for Fiscal Year 2014 and provided us with great direction during a year of big changes as we continue to be the premier organization in ending homelessness and domestic violence. We can’t say enough about Denise's leadership and dedication to this organization!
